567660 2007-07-11 21:10:00 Ghostin, check out the Silverstone TJ06, I have one and they are quite good. The motherboard gets spin upside down so the gpu cooling then pushes exhausts up to the back fans which also exhaust giving better cooling than most. It also has a nifty wind tunnel arrangement which fits over the cpu excluding any heat from the cpu hsf etc from the rest of the system.
The next best thing to the Lian Li V1100!

567661 2007-07-11 21:26:00 wratterus - that case you recomended is quite nice.. does that door just open up to use disc drive etc? do you think cases with doors can be annoying?

Yip a door opens up. I guess it depends on how much you use CDs DVDs etc if you'll find it annoying, my last 3 cases have had doors on them, and I don't find it a problem, but I don't tend to use disks too much.

Heres (www.quickspot.nl) the same kind of thing without a door or LEDs, but if you end up wanting something like the Gigabyte Aurora but without a door, the Lian Li is probably your better bet :)

Have a geez at manufacturers websites (gigabyte, lian li, thermaltake, silverstone), it's easy to see their entire range and make an informed choice then.

567662 2007-07-11 23:22:00 I love wratterus's case and next upgrade would probably go that way. I have an Armour model thermaltake.com which has good cooling and nice space inside. Might be a slithtly cheaper option. Got it new via trademe at a good price at the time.

Looks like your going to have a fantastic machine when your done GHOSTN good luck with it all.

567663 2007-07-11 23:31:00 If you ever take your PC with a thermaltake case to a lan prepare to be laughed at ;) The only people who buy thermaltake product also spent far too much money on the wheels for their car. Pete O'Neil (6584)
567664 2007-07-11 23:38:00 I think not Pete. In my small office I had a lot of problems with cooling my PC. I added extra fans and a bit of rough handyman work cutting holes on my desk to allow more air. The Thermaltake case offered 4 x 120 fans and a lot of space inside and I have not had overheating problems since. It works for me and was a good price at the time. Bantu (52)

 Thermaltake are good. Their higher end stuff is expencive, but it does the job - damn well too. And the Armour/Kandalf cases look sooo good at night :D

Your still a muppet! Just cause it cools "supa good" doesn't make it a good case. How can you sit in your office and have that monstrosity looking back at you? Especially when there are case from the likes of Lian Li and Silverstone that cool just as well and don't look like Xzibit and the crew from Pimp My Ride had offspring.

Have you actually listened to anything anyone has said? Everyones made recommendations so go back and read the thread and make some decisions for yourself. We're not going to spoon feed you the infomation, there is heaps of review sites on the internet that offer opinions of hardware, read a few!
