| 1416255 | 2016-02-20 05:54:00 | A few weeks ago my Wifi single kept dropping. I thought it was something wrong with the router, but then I noticed when it did this, ALL wireless networks were gone, not just mine. It would seem as if the wireless had been disabled, but I never turned it off. I then noticed as long as I stay on, with a browser up, it would never drop connection, but if I closed the browser and let it idle, it would drop connection after about 10 minutes. I was told my wireless card was going out, and I could use a wireless USB, which I began using today, after disabling the Intel wireless card, but it the wireless USB does the same thing, so now I'm guessing it's not an issue with the wireless card. When the connections all disappear, I can go into network settings, right click on the wifi, select diagnose, it will say the WLAN AutoConfig can not start or it keeps disabling itself. If I click repair, nothing. If I repair as admin, it will reconnect, but will eventually drop again. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I have tried a few other things, but nothing has helped. | DLBeLLMO (17456) | ||
| 1416256 | 2016-02-20 06:04:00 | Go to start / run type services.msc If WLAN Autoconfig is disabled or stopped, try and start it / put it on automatic. If any errors come up what does it say? It sounds like there's a prob with the service |

When the option appears to keep drivers keep them - this will uninstall the Wireless network. Reboot the computer - on start up it should automatically detect the wireless adaptor and reinstall it. Then reconnect. If you want to be extra careful, go to the manufactures website of your computer first, download the latest drivers for your wireless. NOTE: Bit awkward to give any other advise as you have not said what's the make/model of computer or what OS you have. If you can test by connecting the computer Via a Ethernet cable instead of wireless this might give some clues as to if its the modem/router or the computer. |

I've uninstalled the wireless card and removed the drivers, restarted and let it reinstall multiple times, still doesn't fix the issue. I've downloaded the latest driver from HP's site, never thought about checking with Intel, will do that now. If I connect via Ethernet, the connection never drops out... The laptop is HP ENVY 17-j021nr Notebook PC, model E0K86UA |

| 1416259 | 2016-02-20 08:14:00 | When you say all wireless networks were gone, do you mean everyone in your house got cut off too? If you did, that sounds like a modem prob to me. Whats the modem? |

I am the only one, but when my network wifi disappeared, so did the neighbors that shows up, as well as the businesses near me. If you hoover over the icon in the taskbar, it says connections are available, but once opened, it's empty. I ran the drive scanner from Intel, it said I had two drivers out dated, but when I checked device manager, it shows both drivers are the current releases, but I downloaded and installed them again to make sure. One was for graphics (which said it didn't install) and the other was Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth. After installing the "new" version, the drive scanner from Intel still says I have an old version installed?? |

| 1416261 | 2016-02-20 08:39:00 | Here are screen shots I took the other day. Wireless: psg.i.lithium.com No Wireless: psg.i.lithium.com I could understand if I hit the button and turned it off, but as you can see in the second pic, the wireless is still on from the icon... but ALL connections my and near by are gone... If I go into my network, diagnose the issue on the wireless, it says the servers isn't started, then if I diagnose as admin, it will start the server back... I just don't know why the service is stopping randomly. |

| 1416262 | 2016-02-20 08:51:00 | Umm When you disabled the Intel wireless card did that install some kind of WLAN configuration program as well? Some wireless device installers do What USB wireless adapter did you buy / are you using now? |

| 1416263 | 2016-02-20 08:57:00 | If this is an upgrade from Windows 8 /8.1 there is a known problem. FIRST run the network trouble shooter: Right-click the network icon ( Wireless symbol ) in the notification area of the taskbar, and then click Troubleshoot problems. If that doesn't work: Have a read of fix-no-wi-fi-available-after-windows-10-upgrade-issue-heres-how/ (www.redmondpie.com) Its also relating to if you had a VPN installed. What can also happen is older software may not be working correctly, thus causing closure / breakage at certain times. So theres no bo-bo's copy/paste the commands into the Command prompt window. If the first command errors, just do the second and reboot. |

Some wireless device installers do What USB wireless adapter did you buy / are you using now? Nothing installed that I know of, but there was only two network adapters listed in device manager, one being the Intel wireless. I bought the Edimax EW-7811Un USB as a quick fix, but after I got that set up and going, it started dropping signal too, so I took it out and went back to using the original. |
