2015-11-05 01:33:00 | Actually it's pretty rude.....not sure I have a whole lot of sympathy for all the movie makers, but the NZ one - great comedy, watched on Saturday with granddaughter....and hey, he put a lot of effort into it, why should we ****en steal it? Not even I am that poor....

2015-11-05 02:05:00 | For people who pirate the films it wont matter, as soon as one gets shut down others will take over or start up somewhere else. Take fatboys Mega -- Who believes its all legal stuff on that now ? :tui:

2015-11-05 03:09:00 | Take fatboys Mega -- Who believes its all legal stuff on that now ? :tui: who in there right mind would store there legit files on Mega, given his history & that the authorities would be just itching to find an excuse to shutdown Mega as well. was YTS/YIFY more a release group or a torrent portal ? Anyway, cant be stopped, another will move in to take its place . All they did was take down an easy target . they took down Megaupload, now there are hundreds of sites that have taken its place, more than there ever were . Want to stop piracy, its really simple, make it easy to just pay & download/stream current movies & TV, instead of assuming people are willing to wait 6 months for local limited release.

2015-11-05 19:47:00 | I thought they did. Isn't that what Netflix and all those are about? Not really, Netflix rarely has the latest movies and some TV series are still at least a season behind and some they simply don't have the rights to at all. Lightbox has no movies, Quickflix is like Netflix's poorer lower quality cousin with even less new content, and other services are not really cheap or worthwhile. It's a lot better than what we had before but there is still no easy way to see the latest content as it's released legally, cheaply, and reliably, and from any one source. There are pay to view services that fill the gap to an extent but they are actually quite a bit more expensive than blu-ray hire from the local outlet. Check out the new release HD rental prices from Google or Xbox movies services for example ($8+ last I looked) On the other side of it, it doesn't matter how cheap it is some people will always pirate it if they can. The only way to stop piracy is to make it impossible, making it cheap to do things legally will reduce it but not stop it. Unfortunately the studios etc have focussed entirely on the prevention by prosecution and DRM side of things and don't want to look at anything that might reduce their margins.

2015-11-05 20:04:00 | I thought they did. Isn't that what Netflix and all those are about? Yeah kinda, it's by no means perfect, but apparently in Australia as a result of the launch of Netflix they've seen huge drops in piracy rates, I was reading about it just the other day. Will try find source... It's a lot better than what we had before but there is still no easy way to see the latest content as it's released legally, cheaply, and reliably, and from any one source. That's the kicker, right there, that it's still not an easy way to find the latest and greatest. Still, they're all significantly cheaper than a SkyTV subscription! On the other side of it, it doesn't matter how cheap it is some people will always pirate it if they can. The only way to stop piracy is to make it impossible, making it cheap to do things legally will reduce it but not stop it. Yeah for me if I'm renting from Play Movies, it's all about the convenience factor. Same for being able to play via Plex to a Chromecast, the fact I can do that anywhere with no hassle is why it's good to have. was YTS/YIFY more a release group or a torrent portal ? Yep pretty much. A quick TPB search for "YIFY" showed: Displaying hits from 0 to 30 (approx 46045 found) Want to stop piracy, its really simple, make it easy to just pay & download/stream current movies & TV, instead of assuming people are willing to wait 6 months for local limited release. Yeah pretty much. There's very few people I know who pirate because they're "too cheap". Mostly it's because they want to keep up with things as others are watching them. Can't go online after a rugby match without seeing the score, much like it's harder to go on to G+ / Facebook after the release of a movie and not see somebody raving about it, and some non-vital plot spoiler is mentioned...
