1410662 2015-11-01 08:55:00 Hmm, minimums $15. Waitakere tip $5.
Yes, I'd agree it is more expensive there....

Still this mess was in Auckland, not Hamilton or wherever.

And how many people dump a ton? A mattress isn't that heavy....

The North Shore transfer station charges $25/100kg of rubbish for a car or trailer load, minimum $25. $10 if its a 50L bag you can carry in without a vehicle.

1410663 2015-11-01 20:09:00 Its nothing to do with the cost , its because people nowadays simply dont give a rats arse about anyone but themselves
It starts with throwing your fast food rubbish out the car window .

Locally (Nth Shore) , rather than a 10minute drive to the Tip, locals just pile up the bigger rubbish at the top of the drive(next to the footpath) & expect someone to magically come along & remove it for them. Its simply because they dont care .

1410664 2015-11-01 20:34:00 Isn’t it marvellous how bureaucrats use fees and taxes to discourage people from an activity like smoking, drinking, driving, etc. and then use the same system to discourage people from doing what they supposedly endorse like keep NZ clean & green? B.M. (505)
