It was delayed about a week as they didn't have them in stock so I actually ended up installing from a download and activating with the key when it arrived but I have used it since to install on another machine that had a buggy upgraded version. |

| 1410547 | 2015-10-29 04:24:00 | Windows Insider Preview program will stay on forever Theres a couple of "gotyas" on that though :) Its no longer Free completely. To install even the insider preview NOW you need a existing W7 or 8.1 valid Key to activate it. When it first came out the Insider was Free Completely as long as it stayed on the same hardware it was fine. Roughly mid July they closed off the ability for free Keys. Heres the Gotya as well. IF you were previously registered and hardware the same, what MANY have found out is if you wipe your drive clean and do a fresh install OR if the version expires and you try to upgrade to something newer it wont activate unless you enter a W7 -8.1 key, even though it was previously activated. IF its the original install still from before mid July 2015 it upgrades and activates fine. This is why before ANY upgrade to a newer version I ALWAYS make a image first - just in case it screws up. The latest Build 10565 is valid till 16/7/2016 - before then there will be newer builds. |
