1483413 2022-01-06 03:27:00 The walkin chemist was turning people away and telling them to book. Earliest booking is mid-Feb, so we went to the drive through.

I have never sat in a traffic queue for so long or moved so slowly, not even in peak Auckland motorway traffic.
Only took 2 hours and 15mins, because A)I called them over and said my mum would go low sugar if we waited much longer and B) didn't wait the 15mins afterwards, did a runner.

And yes, she just got out of hospital yesterday -because of a low sugar...

Felt for the ones we jumped past in queue, some kids in cars too...aircons cranking, water dripping out of cars.

I suggested they put some signage up...cause you couldn't see the queue until it was too late to back out.
A lot of places here that were doing them closed for holidays....

1483414 2022-01-07 00:06:00 Why were you so keen to get the booster?? Fear factor?? paulw (1826)
1483415 2022-01-07 01:02:00 Just due for it...why not? Won't hurt and it is recommended.
As I say once in the queue we couldn't escape, the way that had the cars lined up...otherwise I might have left it for a while.

also as far as anti-vaxxers claiming omicron won't hurt you so why bother, covid hospitalisation rates are going up steeply. i see aussie now has more in hospital from covid than ever before.
delta is still here and one big issue overseas is delta is still doing the rounds (with its usual death rate) while omicron is starting to clog up the hospitals.
so what used to be survivable with a bit of hospital care, will be a death sentence because no hospital care will be available.
so anything to slow it down a bit so those who need hospital care can actually get it will be much appreciated.

1483420 2022-01-09 19:43:00 We went down to the airport for our booster. The illuminated sign said half an hour waiting time but we were taken straight away and were home within the hour.

We would not have worried if we had to wait. Anything is better than ending up in hospital with a deadly disease.

I think that the country has been very lucky so far, but as was said on the news, it's not if but when. So getting your jab is what you need to do.

I can't understand that idiot Tamaki. Does he have a death wish? Alright if he's happy to take the risk but I don't think that he should be allowed to convince others that they do not need the jab. I think he should be put away where he cannot cause any more harm.:annoyed:

If it gets him I'll be happy.

As for convincing, people make their own decision to give up thinking and let others do it for them. It's a choice in the first place
He sure hasn't convinced me of anything that comes out of his mouth

His death wish has a huge mob of eager supporters.
