1483406 2022-01-06 00:41:00 Received another spam txt message again re my parcel, that I need to pay additional customs duty /postage from OZ No: +61 480 341 255 and I am expecting a parcel.

Did AliExpress or NZ Post sell the info to the spammer ?

1483407 2022-01-06 01:08:00 Have quite a few of those and they go into a directory called "spam".

Outlook seem to pick these up pretty quick and put them in the junk folder.

lurking.

ps. do you hover the cursor over the email address, gives an indication of sender.

lurks.

1483408 2022-01-06 01:16:00 I know it is spam.

My question here is, who sold the into to them? NZ Post or AliExpress?

You will never know. There is no way to tell. Just mark it as spam forget it and get on with your life.

Neither. Your phone number probably got harvested from someone else's compromised device that you texted once for a TradeMe pickup, etc.

They don't know you are waiting for a parcel at all. They just send the same message to everyone and hope that someone (like you) IS expecting a parcel, and will get fooled.

Most of the spam I'm getting at the moment is about my expired McAfee subscription. I have never bought a McAfee product in my life!

I am receiving something similar from Norton. And like you, I have never bought anything from Norton. Why would anyone pay Norton (McAfee) when there is so much free stuff on the net to choose from?:illogical

Because Toaster Shop Salesmen push it when people buy Toaster Shop Computers?

And I once had a customer, after I'd sorted their machine, got the boy in. He uninstalled all the AV and antispyware stuff I'd give them and installed Nortons, telling them it was all they needed and much better than this other stuff.....

His dad was IT manager at local HIgh School, so of course he'd know!!
