Windows 11 resets your default browser to Edge

1481688 2021-10-29 23:36:00 At least now that edge is basically the same as chrome it's usable, I have no intention of upgrading to 11 until it's been around long enough for this sort of thing to be sorted. Or maybe linux will be ready for mainstream gaming before windows 10 dies out..... dugimodo (138)
1481689 2021-10-29 23:56:00 New Upgrades or versions often reset to defaults. No big deal just change the browser to what ever you want to use. wainuitech (129)
1481690 2021-10-31 20:21:00 Its nothing new. MS has done this before

It's pretty close now

It's getting there slowly, there's a lot more support than there used to be but still a large number of new titles have no support at all or require a lot of bodging. It has made huge improvements and you can certainly play a lot of great games on it now, but it's not even close to what windows already has IMHO.

Linux can compete with windows seriously for gaming when ALL (or very close to it) new games run on it and they can all be bought, downloaded, and installed, from Linux and at least close to as easily as they can with windows. No command lines, no trial and error of emulator settings, no lack of support for controllers, etc.
I'd personally want to be able to play anything in my current games library. I loaded up steam on linux a few months ago and less that a quarter of my library was supported and that's just steam who have been working to bring support for a while now. Some of it can be made to work, but I want it to "just work" before I consider it seriously.

I'm not a Linux guru, I tend to give it a try every so often just to see how it's going. I did use it for about a year on one of my PC's and was pretty happy with it but then I got frustrated trying to make something work and found a spare windows key so switched. That's been my experience with Linux, mostly does what I want for a while but then I find something it doesn't do easily and give up again.
