1481250 2021-10-11 23:57:00 Hey I have both Google Drive sync and OneDrive making backups for me.

I noticed that for the desktop several files which I had deleted on my machine, and files I had moved to subfolders, have undeleted themselves, and put them back on the desktop.

I cant exclude desktop from OneDrive backup, and I cant see where or what program has been doing the undeletion.

Anyone else have this problem?

All you should have to do (done this several times on others computers) From the icon Tray - Click on One Drive - help and Settings - Settings - Account Tab - choose Folders - Untick Desktop.

Good to chat again after all these years by the way!
It says "Cant stop syncing folder - The folder you tried to unselect is the Windows Desktop folder, which is an important folder in Windows and is currently pointed to OneDrive."

Oh Yeah, thats right. I had that the other day on a customers computer. To make sure I didn't lose anything Made a backup copy of any desktop folders, Files. Disconnected the internet then simply unticked Desktop. From memory It was a bit of untick the folders that were on the desktop first.

Another way is in this video
