1480579	2021-09-17 00:42:00	I am considering getting a curved monitor, as an upgrade from my dual 23" monitors. I want to know particularly from those who do gaming, how does the full-screen mode for games work, if the monitor is ultra wide (e.g. 34")? Thanks!	caffy (2665)
1480580	2021-09-17 02:56:00	It would depend on the aspect ratio and resolution you're playing at but most games will scale to the ultra-wide aspect ratio quite easily. Curved ultra-wide and super ultra-wide are beneficial for increased FOV in games like PUBG, Fortnite etc as you can see more (horizontally). The only "drawback" is you're sacrificing vertical height of what you're looking at which can be an issue when not gaming or watching video etc. I would say if you're going from a 16:9 24+ inch monitor to an ultra wide at 21:9 then yes it would be aestrically more pleasing from a gaming/media perspective and as long as your GPU can handle that aspect ratio and resolution. Again, it's about the type of things you're doing on your PC, if you spend more time browsing the web/word processing or any other "standard" applications then ultra-wide may not be a good idea because you're losing that "vertical" space.	chiefnz (545)
1480581	2021-09-17 03:01:00	The use of my computer is a mix of gaming and using MS Office applications, and the Internet browser - I move things over to the other monitor, to refer to whilst mainly working on one monitor. is there anyway to "split" the monitor in half so that I can continue having two applications open at the same time in "full-screen" side-by-side? Or is this a manual task I'd have to do - resizing the windows?	caffy (2665)
1480582	2021-09-17 03:19:00	I went from a 27" 16:9 to a 34" ultra wide a couple years ago, was not sure if it was a good Idea but haven't regretted it at all. A surprising amount of TV shows and movies also fit this aspect ratio better. Also it's the exact same height as my 27" monitor so if I play a game at 1080p letterboxed with black bars on the sides I have lost nothing. I deliberately went with 2560 x 1080 so my graphics card didn't need upgrading. A higher res monitor would be nicer if I could drive it but with current gpu prices I'm glad I have a lower res screen my 1070 can still manage.	dugimodo (138)

Or is this a manual task I'd have to do - resizing the windows? On a single screen you simply drag the App you have open to either the left or right and it will snap to half the screen size. On Windows 11, that's a new feature you have various options to the layout. 1480588	2021-09-17 05:15:00	Yeah I wouldn't bother with an ultra-wide until you get at least an AMD 5x00/6x00 or nVidia 20x0/30x0 series card... The 570 will struggle with anything past 1080p in gaming... you need at least 6GB of memory to begin with if you want to game at 1440p ultra-wide. the 570 just doesn't have the chops to get you there.	chiefnz (545)
