You appear to be totally incapable of understanding that there is more than one way to view most things and your view is not necessarily always correct and that anyone with a different view is therefore always wrong. 1484139 2022-02-12 01:55:00 your saying that you would rather have cafe's open than have critical workplaces open

what do you think "living with the virus" actually means?
you seam to think its means ignoring it.
.

Who is "you"? I didn't write it, this guy Bruce did.
All I have done is post his article.

I agree with the bit that says the modellers are the celebrities, well not quite.
I think modelling is a lot less predictive than it is made out to be, whether is is about a virus or anything else is all.

As to the guys opinions, I don't have one at all.
I liked his modelling comment.

so you copied an anti-vax statement, no mention of who actually wrote it or link to where its published. i'm taking a guess that its one of the anti-vax emails thats doing the rounds.
but then again thats what anti-vaxxers do, copy other peoples nonsense.

so says the anti-vaxxer.

i don't have beliefs, science is still true even if you don't believe it.

in my line of work i have always dealt with people who make up nonsense, put their head in the sand and call it "beliefs" or "views".
your nothing new, nothing special. anti-vax type existed long before covid.
just because you believe in something does not make it true.

Being fully vaccinated I have to be one of the worst anti-vaxxers on the planet. Having mentioned that in several posts you should know that by now. You are perfectly entitled to believe whatsoever you desire but please stop making things up. Anyone who says "Science is always True" has no understanding of science. Just because you believe in something does not make it true either.

It's not anti vax. I said it was in the Herald and named the writer - who is vaccinated.
www.nzherald.co.nz

Here, now everyone will moan it's in a paywall or something, you could just google it.

Here have one more relevant to MY point then:

Or to put it more simply: IT's just a complex, expensive way to run a bunch of IF THEN statements.

1484144 2022-02-14 23:50:00 I see that we go to "Omicron, red light, phase two, mark 3.5, subclause three, past participle four" sometime today.

Anyone have a clue WTF this means?

Ken

p.s. I had a "Phase Two" Vanguard as a young fella. Is this is something similar? Once, driving back to Auckland in the middle of the night the exhaust pipe broke off at the manifold and I drove 200K with a car that reminded me of a politician.... All noise and no guts.

Ken ;)

have you not been listening to Jacinda .
The traffic light system is there because its easier for us dummies to understand .

Because the 4 Levels system was just far too complex . I mean , 4 , thats far too many to comprehend .

:banana

its simple .
Do what everyone else is doing . Mask up in shops etc . Ignore all other rules .

Does anyone? I thought she did well at first . However, she talks to us like we are children . I hit the mute when she comes on nowadays . If she is not politicking she is telling BS stories .

1484147 2022-02-15 05:11:00 Meanwhile, the Carnival of Fools goes on in Wellington. The heroic few protest their freedom to, er, do something or not do something, and to heck with everyone else. A main thoroughfare is blocked, businesses have had to close, making the already painful effects of the pandemic even worse.

The fatuity of the slogans displayed for the cameras is mind-boggling. "Natural immunity is 99.6% effective" (says who?), "Epstein didn't kill himself" (WTF?), "Police we love you", "Hang 'em high", and of course everywhere is "Freedom!"

Watching the live feed from the Parliament Grounds I get the impression that under different circumstances, many of the protesters would be ordinary, nice people. How did they get like this? I suppose the tendency to react against being told to do something is part of the natural spread of personality types among humans. Then, a pandemic like Covid-19 is scary, and if you don't have some understanding of how this sort of thing develops (in spite of explanations from those who do understand), then your ignorance can generate fear. Fear can then give rise to anger ("fight or flight") and then rationality gets pushed aside. Most people can work their way through this, but for some it appears too hard.

To me, this protest is more sad than anything else. Just a lot of energy being wasted.
