1483780	2022-01-24 19:17:00	Hello Tweek'e ,it is good to know you are still there, I was starting to think something had happened to you it took so long for you to bite. Even you must be starting to realise that not even one of your predictions of doom since the start of the "Pandemic" has come close to being correct. Just like those that predict the end of the world or the second coming of Christ on a certain date, when it doesn't happen you forget you are wrong and shift the prediction further out down the road ignoring reality. I am not anti vaccination and I do not give health advise to anyone else. If anyone wishes to spend there time living in fear, as far as I am concerned, they are free to do so but I am not a member of the Branch Covidian Cult and do not intend to join anytime soon. Agreed there is too much fear mongering . I do have issues with one of the NZ "experts" having zero medical background, not a virologist or a doctor . That experts predictions were way off reality . And he was one of the 'expert' advisors to the Govt . but . . . . predictions of doom . . . how soon we forget how about so many dead that they were trucking out the dead in army trucks (Italy), so many dead NY hospitals had to get in refrigerated shipping containers to put them in So many dead they were left rotting in the street (Sth American countries) so many dead that any sort of filming or photography was banned in cemeteries so Govts could hide the death rates (Iran) NZ ddint have big issues because we closed the boarder quite early, and we are an Island at the bottom of the world . Only the other hand, the death rate is quite low , less than 1% . Some wont even know they have it untill they get a test Most Healthy people will just get sick & recover at home . But, (say) 0 . 5% of a Million is a big number of deaths . I would bet it will decimate our PI population , given NZ's rates of obesity & diabetes , and given the number living in a single home in Sth Ak . Add to that , hospitals being overloaded . NZ hospitals couldnt cope even before covid . Then when hospital staff and doctors get sick, we'll be in real trouble . Some parts of the USA , they just accept it , carry on life as usual without any restrictions . It looks like thats whats going to eventually happen in NZ . Just accept it & carry on as best we can . Most kiwis are doing just that, not panicking , getting on with life, and many not following restrictions .	1101 (13337)
1483782	2022-01-24 21:08:00	The term 'excess deaths' is the one used to describe the extra number of deaths than usual in an average year caused in this time by mostly Covid cases which have not been counted. Covid is the extra push to take people over the edge who have co-morbitities. So far due to the good planning of the Labour Government we have had a good run with low deaths, I hope it continues, however I feel worried. I wish we had stuck to trying to achieve zero Covid cases even if it's not achievable, the economy won't run any better if there's wide-spread panic as the death toll gets as high as it has done in Aussie proportionately, and people start isolating and staying at home to avoid being infected instead of going out and buying normally. I don't know why we couldn't have closed off the South Island from the North Island for a start and not just have random people touring round the country infecting others getting on with their sheltered lives.
