| 568788 | 2007-07-13 09:25:00 | Help, my xp installation has gone all to crap, after trying recovery console etc I have decided to reformatt and start again as its a new drive. Where can I get a guide on what steps to take and the commands to type?? regards Grant |

| 568789 | 2007-07-13 09:34:00 | All you have to do is go into the BIOS, change the bootdisk to cd, save the settings reboot. Put the XP cd in, and wait for it to get to the install screen. Then select the hdd / format / partition. Windows will install. Pretty straightforward from then on. Follow what it says on the screen. You dont type any commands. You just type what it asks for on the screen. Dont forget to remove the cd and change the bootdisk, back to the hdd in the BIOS. And save the settings. After XP has been installed. It'll reboot about 3-4 times, dont press a key everytime it reboots, or it'll start over again . Just let it do its thing. |

| 568793 | 2007-07-15 08:51:00 | You don't need to format a drive that is already formatted! Just do as above with respect to installing XP. Once the install finds that XP is already on the drive it will give you the option to remove it. |
