568646 2007-07-13 03:15:00 What is going on with xtras Go Large? For the last 2 months I have been getting a D/L of 54 kbps & an upload of 130 kbps. Far slower than dialup & they cannot help me. Everytime they put me on to the helpdesk and nothing improves. They have checked everything & found nothing wrong my end. All they do is say ring the help desk. They must be accountable for this. I am paying $49.95 a month for a plan that is absolutely hopeless. What can you do to help me? Hilton (293)
568647 2007-07-13 03:26:00 I am also on Xtra Go Large, & everything has been fine, I just did a speed test & I got:

Download Speed: 2566 kbps (320.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 131 kbps (16.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

This was at 2:37 pm

How much data have you been downloading / uploading over the last 2 months??

Do you use p2p?

If Go Large does not improve for you after another month, then it may be time to switch to another plan or ISP.

568648 2007-07-13 04:02:00 I used to have this exact problem. Every month I rang up and complained, and every month they moved me to the pro plan (which actually worked!) and gave me a $30 credit. I finally moved to Xnet when they canned golarge, and ever since the change my service has been brilliant. Erayd (23)

How are you measuring this 54 kbps ?

What does your modem say the line rate is ? [ If it says something similar, changing ISPs will make no difference. ]

568651 2007-07-13 04:28:00 Hi,
I am going to put my pennyworth here- I too went up to Go Large, found that I was only getting 1.3 M/bs and that was it.
then at Telecom's suggestion, I had to move my router to the phone jack, and have the ethernet cable go into the pooter from that--in another room 18 metres away- and I now average 4.25 m/bytes/ second-- I have been as high as 6.25 mbs- once in a while loads build up and I get down to 2.9
It is so fast I dare not ask for more- even that is far far more speed than I really need.
I am approximately 2 km from Telecom exchange/center, and, in a 30 year old house, life couldn't be sweeter.
Any problems, i e I found-recently after 14 months usuage my router started kicking out ((D link 504 T)--AND get this, I was given a complete install kit - with the new router-and still am at this moment-3.41 pm -- 4.64 mb/s

I meant to ask in my last post where are you doing your speed tests?

Try doing a speed test here: www.nzdsl.co.nz & post back here your results.

568655 2007-07-13 07:16:00 Thats a fantastic speed winmacguy. Whats up U/L btw? You should see Woosh's speeds, I'd be lucky if it got into triple KB's. beeswax34 (63)
