567926 2007-07-11 03:52:00 Looks like MS are being kind for a change.

They've done an Imapi update for XP, so you can now burn to DVD (support.microsoft.com)

I take it, this is when you use the send to burner option.

MS have extended this option (from Vista) to XP and Server 2003.

And a BITS (support.microsoft.com) update

And a WMI (support.microsoft.com) update

Speaking of which, has anyone installed this update (support.microsoft.com) ?

Its appeared on mine, but I dont have any of the CPU's listed.

Better late than never I guess :)
I prefer using software I can trust though such as Nero or ImgBurn.

Not yet, but my C2D system hasn't been causing any problems thus far.

True. A bit late 5-6 yrs later. I use Nero or Nerovision.

Yup, same here. I wouldnt have a clue what it fixes anyway.

I posted something in the Windowsupdate newsgroup asking if I had to install it. Since it didnt list my CPU.

Noone answered lol. Obviously MS dont even know what its for (typical).

So, I didnt install it.

This is a way to fix bugs with the instruction set in the CPU. To put it simply it allows the instruction set to be modified or extended on the fly.

Normally your BIOS will do this at POST but if your BIOS is not updated then this method will ensure you are up to date.

But does it work? That is the ? Or will it screw a system up?

And would you install it, (Or do you know of anyone who has, on a system that isnt listed)?

Even tho the update appeared on the Windowsupdate site?
