| 568111 | 2007-07-12 07:43:00 | Wow, good fans cost quite a lot, but I'm looking for budget fans anyway, I might upgrade to silent fans if I have lots of extras to spend. Overall, can't find better deals than OCNZ fans because, OCNZ got good CMF but we have to ignore it since you're paying a decent price for it. I found a good fan at Computer Louge in Auckland but $52, for three spends, the maximum cmf is around 80 but dba is a lot lower than OCNZ, but I can get two OCNZ fan with that price. |

| 568112 | 2007-07-12 08:25:00 | No, it's not marketing crap. I have 2X 120mm fan that has a noise rating of 34.6dBa. And personally I hated them for the first two weeks. I grew accustomed to the noise after two weeks, though. They are described as running at 2000rpm. Most of the quieter fans are 1500rpm or less. You could try slowing them down. In answer to pctek, I have no problem with slower fans, the one in my case is an average 120 running at ~1400rpm and I don't notice it above the background. A very quiet room has a background noise level around 30dBa. |
