568840 2007-07-13 11:43:00 Depending on the nVidia motherboard model/revision it may support 45nm as most of them are natively supporting 1333mhz now. But it is more hit and miss at the moment because there is no straight answer. The problem with Nvidia chipset is they require serious cooling compared to P35 that's why I don't really want them. But anyway the problem being sorted and I think I can stick with ATI Radeon HD X2900XT now. PedalSlammer (8511)
568841 2007-07-13 11:53:00 Hell NO!!!! I get 9087 in 3d mark 06 and that is on a 4400+ with generic RAM, that is higher than the review :D

And look at the power consumption of the 2900 and the noise! performance is NOT EVERYTHING

Anyway, look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R the 8800GTS out ran the 2900 easily in most of the tests

And trinsic this is GFX cards, not CPUs

You can't say things like that unless you've got a professional person tested and publish the results, I mean can 8800GTS out run every games? Actually no.

You just wanted everyone to agree with you - not give their opinions.
Well bugger HL2, its old news now, I don't care if the 2900 comes out a tiny bit better on it. Its probably about the only one.

The general consensus is Nvidia won this round, why don't you go read some reviews instead of picking out the bits that tell you what you want to hear?

And regardless of which card you want you should think about either Gigabyte or ASUS, which both have a 3 yr warranty.
Your choices are only 1.

568846 2007-07-13 22:09:00 :stare: 8800 GTS 640MB is still a good choice? I thought Albatron is good, I know Asus and Gigabyte but they cost more.

I think X2900XT will make a good heater too since it is winter time, Brrr, it's freezing in Auckland now.

568848 2007-07-13 22:49:00 :groan: you don't READ do you?How much are those cards, besides :groan: I use to owned a GeForce 2 MX400 and having tough time playing games with Nvidia driver, oh yeah, if I wanna play NFS HP2 I need to run Windows driver instead, yeah talking about how annoying, that's why I don't think I can stick with Nvidia.

After getting the ATI 9550, I don't have much problem anymore, :horrified just can't stand Nvidia drivers.

Anyway there are some improvements with 7.5 and 7.6. 7.5 is good for XP and 7.6 is good for Vista so far for X2900XT.

Besides I already checked the price of 8800GTS 640MB of Asus and it cost like one X2900XT, oh yeah, no real deal anyway, no bargain games etc.

568849 2007-07-13 22:56:00 So basically you are going to play old games and watch demos? right? what the... you really do not deserve to have a card as powerful as these if you do not use it properly :groan: The_End_Of_Reality (334)
