| 568432 | 2007-07-12 09:04:00 | Hi I bought a new geforce fx5200 graphics accelerator card for my old computer. I have an old computer with a ga-686lx3 motherboard. I am running windows 2000 with 384meg of ram. The old pci graphics card was not very good so thought I would improve graphics until I can buy a new computer. The problem is that when I installed the card it locked everything up. It is installed in an agp slot. Any help will be appreciated. Andym60 |

| 568433 | 2007-07-12 09:08:00 | Did you take the old card out and uninstall the old videocard drivers? Do you know the speed of the AGP card ?? (ie: 4x,8x etc)?? And what speed the AGP port can take? - Edit looks like it supports 1, and 2x. |

So did you uninstall the videocard drivers, then remove the PCI card?? Then install this AGP card, then install the latest version of the drivers for it (not beta drivers)? |

| 568439 | 2007-07-12 21:29:00 | You currently have one of the early AGP slots, and the card is designed for later versions. See here (en.wikipedia.org) for info on AGP compatibility. Essentially, you can't use that card on that motherboard and will most likely need to go back to your PCI card until you upgrade. |
