568079 2007-07-11 09:02:00 We found the most recommendations for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 and ESET's NOD32 Antivirus 2.5 or 2.7. NOD32 is universally praised for its effectiveness, and equally discredited for its clunky, counterintuitive interface. Kaspersky also is very effective and also has issues, but all credible reviewers rank both programs among the two or three best.

Which one is better? I know this is another AV thread, but I'm advancing myself into the paid world of AV. Both sound equally good, and price is not a factor. Any experiences with each, which is better?

Also, I think Speedy mentioned Kaspersky is included in ZoneAlarm security Suite, is this true and is it the same version you'd be buying online? (Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6)

Thanks

EDIT: Thanks for the reply in the other thread Speedy, lol, am looking for test results comparing, these two AV and possibly Avast Pro, but cant find any up to date ones

I only mentioned that ZA uses Kaspersky, coz that's what the message said.

When I turned ZA's AV option on.

It said Kaspersky AV isnt compatible with Avast.

568081 2007-07-11 09:11:00 Well I'll have to look that up then, but yet you still claim Avast is better than Kaspersky...I dunno. Too much options these days.

EDIT: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

Thats looking good ^

Whatever version is in ZA maybe different, to the full version of Kaspersky.

The full separate version of Kaspersky, has most probably got more options in it as well.

568083 2007-07-11 09:50:00 "To be honest, it's quite good, although not on the level of KAV(it's Computer Associates AV which rates highly). However, the big problem is it has little to no flexibility and setup options, which is what makes it sub par."

Just found out ZA doesnt have Kaspersky in it...maybe you got mixed up? Anyway I'm downloading Kaspersky because it rates as second best.

568084 2007-07-11 09:56:00 Just found out ZA doesnt have Kaspersky in it . . . maybe you got mixed up?

Ah no, I didnt get mixed up . As I said thats what the message said not me .

I didnt say ZA had Kaspersky (the full program) IN IT .

I said the AV engine it uses is Kaspersky .

568085 2007-07-11 09:58:00 Now that's confusing. --Wolf-- (128)
568086 2007-07-11 10:23:00 Just tried to install Kaspersky...had to first uninstall AVG, was fine with that - then it said it wont work with ZA! No way am I getting rid of ZA, is there anyway around this, otherwise what should I use instead?

EDIT: BitDefender any good?

568087 2007-07-11 10:43:00 Am now considering NOD32 again

www.pcworld.com

It's a shame Kaspersky doesn't work with ZA, seems to be the best AV out.
