569164 2007-07-15 03:22:00 Vista updates downloaded onto Toshiba Satalite laptop have stoped the dvd player from working.
Why would this have happened? and how can we fix it?

569165 2007-07-15 03:32:00 A better discription of the problem might help rocky138 (10636)

569169 2007-07-15 04:57:00 Looks like there are others with the same prob (www.winforumz.com)

In device manager does it say its working, or is there a ! beside the DVD entry??

What version of Vista is installed?? Ultimate ??

569170 2007-07-15 10:40:00 dgoddard, The same thing happened to me a couple months back.

This old thread here helped me out:

www.planetamd64.com

Or if that's no help, I also download the reg fix CDGone from this thread here:

forums.techguy.org

It says it's only for XP but it worked in Vista for me.

As always, create a restore point first in case anything goes wrong.
