569611 2007-07-17 05:58:00 Xerox said the device didn't need anything special for Vista. It seems they were correct.

It's Microsoft's security measures causing problems when turned off. ;)

It's a curiious thing: you expect security to cause installation problems when it's on.

569613 2007-09-13 02:02:00 Dear All,

I'm having a really frustrating time with my new computer, which has Vista Home Premium installed. I can't use my Phaser 3115 printer, and FX told me they had no drivers. Please help

Thanks,

569614 2007-09-13 02:07:00 See if these work (members.driverguide.com)

You'll have to register to get them.

569615 2007-09-13 02:09:00 Welcome to PressF1 ;)

Here (members.driverguide.com) you go bro. Try that one. You have to register to download that file, but it's free.

Edit - Beat me to it! :p

569616 2007-09-13 03:58:00 Thanks everyone.
Please pardon my ignorance but how should I proceed?
I've registered with the site, downloaded the software, and extracted the files onto the desktop.
I've plugged in the printer and the found new hardware window comes up, and I direct it to the file, but the driver doesn't install.
I have opened the unzipped folder but can't see any program that helps me install the drivers.
Your help would be very much appreciated. Sorry if I seem bewildered, I'm finding this really un-intuitive.
Thanks again.
Alexander

569617 2007-09-13 04:07:00 Whats in the zip file??

Post the files here.

Is there an install.exe or setup.exe file? An inf file in it?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
569618 2007-09-13 04:17:00 Hi,
There are no exe or inf files. There are dll, dat, hin, ver, a couple of help files that don't work with vista, and a drv file which looked promising but when opened it asks me what I want to open the file with.
Thanks.
Regards,
Alexander

569619 2007-09-13 04:20:00 I'd say start of fresh, follow these instructions.

1. Click Start and click Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound then Printers.
3. Click Add a printer. This launches the Add Printer Wizard.
4. Click Add a local printer.
5. Use the drop down arrow to select the port. (LP1) Click Next.
6. Select the Manufacturer of your printer and the model. Click Next. If your printer is not listed, you’ll need to locate the manufacturer-supplied drivers on your computer (the ones you downloaded).
7. Type in a name for the printer. This is the name that will appear under the printer icon in the Printers folder. Click Next.
8. If you want to print a test page, click the Print a test page button. Click Next.
9. Click Finish at the Summary window.
