569373 2007-07-16 03:44:00 you're wondering if theres something wrong with the PS2 keyboard socket? I'm reasonably convinced that thats not the case...

Stranger things have happened. I've just fixed a PC where the broken DVD drive took Windows down. Removed/replaced the drive and all was normal. With it plugged in Windows was totally crippled and useless.

Like the others have said, try a USB keyboard and put your mind at rest whether it works or not.

Will try the USB keyboard tonight.

thanks for all the suggestions!

Dont forget, the O/S will require a couple of moments to recognise the usb keyboard and configure for use, so it wont work straight away!

Guess I'll have to check the Yellow Pages for a professional
Theres nothing in BIOS to disable the part of the Mother Board that handles the mouse/keyboard is there?

569377 2007-07-16 15:06:00 Even if you could disable that part of the mobo, how would you save your changes and quit? beeswax34 (63)
