569181 2007-07-15 04:37:00 Thanks Speedy, it's helped a bit but not much, about 25%.
I went to try Bhowden's suggestion ( I do not have a name brand) but I tried reinstalling Win again and was told I have a newer version on my comp. which I guess is SP2 etc.
Your second para is a bit over my head, do you mean just change the name of the folder which has my user name?

You cant install XP while XP is installed. You have to do a clean install, but then you'll lose everything. You'll have to reinstall everything.

You mean about uninstalling Java? If u do uninstall it. In Add/remove programs, and get the latest version in my sig below.

Did you uninstall Java??

Not just delete its folder? Not a good idea to delete a folder, without uninstalling it first... Things will go haywire.

Hmm I've never done what Bhowden said. See if he can give u a link to help u out.

It maybe easier to do.

569185 2007-07-15 05:34:00 Hi Speedy
Sorry wrong wording, I uninstalled Java not just the folder. I will wait for Bhowden to get back to me

Delete it, if its no longer in add/remove programs. Then install the latest version.

Are there any other versions of Sun Java in add/remove programs? If there is uninstall them too.
