| 569470 | 2007-07-16 10:03:00 | Hi I have a problem with my PC. It freezes for no reason whether if you are on internet or when on idle. I have Windows XP (Home edition) and have the latest software, that is Adware(2006), AVG(7.5), Firefox(2.0.0.4) and windows updated. Please advise what is causing the problem. Many thanks. |

Its now up to 6 Update 2. The link is in my sig below. How much ram is installed?? What version of ZA is installed?? Does it include an AV?? |
Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 569474 | 2007-07-17 01:21:00 | Most random freezing is caused by faulty RAM . If you have more than one stick of it, remove all except one and see what happens . If it still locks up, remove the remaining stick and substitute the previously removed one . If it still locks up you either have two faulty sticks of RAM or something else causing the problem . If you only have one stick of RAM you need to locate a known good stick to substitute with . Once you can eliminate the RAM as being the culprit you can then look at other areas such as software, motherboard etc . |

| 569477 | 2007-07-17 09:16:00 | Can't click onto task manager using CTRL-Alt-DEL, wont respond. Had to press the restart button on the Box to get it going. Haven't change or installed hardware for about a year. The only change to PC was going from Dial up to Broadband. Thanks a lot. |

| 569478 | 2007-07-17 09:24:00 | Try disabling ZA or AVG one then the other.. See if that fixes it. It could be one of these. The drivers you've installed, you didnt download / install any from the Windowsupdate site did you? If u use IE 7, try disabling the plugins... If that freezes while youre using it |
Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 569479 | 2007-07-17 09:44:00 | Windows updates were installed automatically. Only use Firefox all the time. It still freeze even when not on line. I am thinking it might be the Hard drive?????? Thanks Speedy for the help. |
