570125 2007-07-19 01:31:00 I have been given a DVD with some photos on. Opening the drive in explorer brings up a blank. I have tried Unstoppable Coppier with no luck.

The disc definitely has the info on it as two folders show up in Nero.

Is there any way to get the pics off the disc?

570126 2007-07-19 01:39:00 Was it finalised before whoever gave it to you??

Its most probably showing the folders in Nero, since it'll let you add to it (if it hasnt been finalised).

Finalise it (if you wont be putting anymore pics on it). and it should let you see whats on it, on any computer.

BUT depending on what program you finalise it with, it may or may not play on a standalone DVD player. If this is what you want to do.

570127 2007-07-19 01:52:00 Yeah, I thought of that. Nero Info Tool told me it wasnt finalised so I did that and still no luck.

I just tried copy/paste and got an error msg saying disc structure is corrupted and unreadable.

570128 2007-07-19 01:58:00 And did u finalise it with Nero or whatever program was used in the first place?? Speedy Gonzales (78)
570129 2007-07-19 02:04:00 I finalised with Nero. I dont know what was originally used.

I also tried copying the disc with Nero which went fine, but the copy is also unreadable.

As a side note, The icon in explorer changes from DVD-RAM drive to CD Disk although the disc is a 4.7 DVD+RW

Well only thing to do is get the original photos and reburn them.

This is normal, same thing happens here until the dvd/cd has been written to and finalised.

Whether its a blank cd or dvd.

OK, thanks. You would think an IT Project Manager would know how to burn a disk aye?

lol, I've seen worse.

Quite a few people in here who say they're IT support or specialists, know jack about anything.

They'll be better off playing marbles, or something.
