570119 2007-07-19 03:16:00 There's some web-hosted servers at http://www.igzones.com. You may want to check the site out.

I haven't done this myself, but to run without a server (& possibly with), you'll have to change the firewall settings for your ADSL router also. I would strongly suggest you don't just disable the firewall there, or your Windows one - just open up the required IP ports (in the FAQ at the website above).

Good luck - I might check this out myself, as AoE is still my all-time fave game.

570120 2007-07-19 03:44:00 I didn't think AOE2 gaming was still available using matchmaker or whatever it was, so if you're trying to use that, then try direct IP connection instead mejobloggs (264)
570121 2007-07-19 04:24:00 we have tried both
when you enter the ip of the other player and click show games nothing comes up?
when using gamespy it did say something about the internal ip being different than the external ip

570123 2007-07-19 04:49:00 Look in the manual on how to get into the config / setup of the router. Speedy Gonzales (78)
