Also many microphone inputs are the same as line inputs with an option to change microphone type or gain to suit what's plugged in |

| 570423 | 2007-07-20 04:23:00 | A "line level" is about 1V. A "mic level" is some (say, 20) millivolts. The soundcard inputs will handle the excessive input (maybe 50x) without damage. There will be bad distortion. You might, possibly, damage the speakers of an amplified speaker system with the distorted, high level, signal it will receive from the sound card. | Graham L (2) | ||
