570557 2007-07-20 20:55:00 Hello members
I like to backup individual folders of costumers in Outlook 2007 and store on a CD together with hard copies in the costumer archive file.
Say if I have a folder with emails of costumer X which have PDF or Word, or any file attached, how can I backup this so I can retrieve any data (email and attachments) if needed?
For any help, many thanks in advance

570558 2007-07-20 21:05:00 Under "FILE" select import/export and choose the desired options. I use the .pst file option to do my backups.

Have a look at THIS (forums.whirlpool.net.au) too.

Cheers

570559 2007-07-20 21:18:00 You can go to File - Import and Export and choose Export to a file then choose Personal Folder File (.pst)
Choose the folder you want to backup and a location to save it to.
After that you can put on disk.

They can easily be imported back into Outlook if you ever lose the originals.

570560 2007-07-20 22:41:00 Thank you guys!
The only way to access the .pst files would be again to import them to Outlook, is that right.
So if I have backed up one costumer on cd (as .pst)and deleted the file in Outlook as it is not needed any longer, can I only see the email files and attachments if I import to Outlook again?
Or, is there a similar thing like the GenieSoft Outlook Experess backup software for Outlook?

Thanks

570561 2007-07-20 23:06:00 There is an Outlook version from Geniesoft. Well I've got the install file.

I havent installed it yet tho, so dont know, if it supports Outlook 2007.

Just checked the site, doesnt look like it supports Outlook 07, only 2000-03

I think the idea is access to the saved .pst file just by using file>open>outlook data file(saved to the backups folder which you periodically cut to cd), and just leave open.

Thanks!
I don't quite get it?
If I want to access an email in the costumer file "X" that I had(and backed up on CD) removed from Outlook as it was not needed any longer, how can I do that?
As I mentioned above; Genie soft has a very good programm for Outlook Express. Within the programm it is possible to access one particular folder and any email within that.
In Outlook all personal folders are within the .pst file and not visible like the Outlook Express .dbx files.
Do you know what I mean?
Thanks
