I have a Compaq DVD Rom. But when i try to install C&C Tiberium Wars 3 and sometimes other programs it suddenly stops randomly and my computer doesnt recognize it anymore. pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

now this may sound silly, but is it properly plugged in? try unplugging it at either end, and check the dvd for defects. |

Yeah its all done but its allright with other games but its the big games it has sometimes problems with. |

Are the game cd's / dvd's the ORIGINAL games? not COPIES? |

yeah, if it only does it to particular dvds then it sounds like the media is faulty, not the drive hardware/software :2cents: |

Original it does it with some of the PC World Cd's i have sometimes too |
