| 573252 | 2007-07-27 05:45:00 | Im sick of it. To update or download any game through steam goes so slow. I average 5kb a second. img440.imageshack.us This is pitiful. When downloading off microsoft or off an ftp I can get about 700 kb a second max. So can someone tell me why I only get dial up speed? And when I refresh the server list for CSS with the only preference ticked being servers in Aussie/NZ it comes up with about 80 servers. At a net cafe it comes up with about 300 - 400. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Cheers. |

| 573254 | 2007-07-27 06:24:00 | Yeah I bought all my games on DVD but there close to original versions. So I have about 100mb of CSS updates alone to do. I recently formatted this computer to get rid of all the crap and forgot to back up my steam files. So do you only get 5kb a second average when updating steam games as well? | Fishy (10540) | ||
| 573255 | 2007-07-27 07:09:00 | I only have: HL2 HL2-EP1 Dark Messiah Dark Messiah came on DVD and I removed the Valve folder from the registry. HL2 EP 1 I download via Steam which took, well not sure cause I went to bed and left it. 12 hours or some rubbish? I then had a friend amend it. As he did with HL2. Of course that liminates online but I don't care, I played single player and it made an enormous difference. Not just how much smaller it got but how much better performance it gained. SO I hate Steam. What happens when HL2 EP2 comes out I hate to think. |
