573028 2007-07-26 09:42:00 For a week or so i been trying to find out whats wrong with my computer.

It will randomly lag and a virtual memory popup will come up in the task bar saying its too low etc.

So i opened task manager and to my shock i saw serviceLayer.exe taking 1,566,622 K VM usage.

I ended it but then it zoomed right up to 1 million k and during that process it was lagging bad my comp.

Apprently ServiceLayer.exe has something to do with Nokia PC suite so i deleted the nokia folder in my C Drive but its still there.

I would look in add or remove but for some reason i cant go into add or remove i get this error 'Value Creation failed at line 451" If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me.

THANKS MUCH IN ADVANCE -

PS when explaining how to fix please use noob instructions im not that bright at comps

573029 2007-07-26 09:54:00 You shouldnt delete a folder, even tho u cant get into add/remove programs.

As its service will still be in the system, and its most probably in startup (so it runs everytime u boot up).

You're right it belongs to Nokia suite.

Is StyleXP installed on this computer?? That Value Creation failed at line 451 error maybe related to StyleXP, or themes.

I think this (support.microsoft.com)

Relates to the same error.

Whats installed XP ? SP1, or 2?

573031 2007-07-26 10:35:00 Get ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com)

Install it (untick Yahoo toolbar), and then run it click on tools/uninstall.

Find that Nokia suite entry, click on run uninstaller on the right if it brings up an error.

Delete the entry.

Then click on tools/startup. Find the entries that show Nokia under file.

Highlight them then click on delete entry.

Then click on issues. Click on scan for issues. Anything that comes up, click on fix selected issues...Hopefully that should remove the files in the folder you deleted.

Then reboot.

Altho this may not fix things so u can get into control panel, until u replace the file/s on the MS site I gave. Something maybe corrupted.

Custom themes like??
