572885 2007-07-26 01:18:00 I've been playing around with System Restore (running XP Pro w/ SP2),
and I have noticed that only 1 restore point appears, no matter how many I make. Tons of HD space, and using max available. Can't find anywhere to allow multiple restore points.Anyone point me in the right direction?

572889 2007-07-26 21:21:00 Have found it invaluable in the past, as I try out a lot of programs! DaveMac (2886)
572890 2007-07-26 21:27:00 Thats what add/remove programs is for. Uninstalling programs.

You dont use system restore for uninstalling programs.

572891 2007-07-26 21:37:00 System restore is useful for when things go wrong. Some people choose not to use it, however I certainly would never advise people to disable it.

RE: your situation, I have run into a similar problem myself, which I believe was caused by a virus infection. I never managed to fix it, so I can't be of much help sorry.

I would.

If "things" go wrong, then you boot into safe mode and uninstall them.
Or repair corrupted systme files .

572893 2007-07-26 22:34:00 Obviously. But it does get the computer working again after a program crash. DaveMac (2886)
572894 2007-07-26 22:37:00 Well uninstall the program then.

If it crashes. Its just taking up hdd space.

I dont see what a crashing program has to do with using system restore. Unless its XP that's crashing.
