| 574202 | 2007-07-30 07:10:00 | Hi team I have just installed windows XP to a P3 computer. When I scroll, the screen movement is not smooth , it is quite jittery. I was advised to download new drivers by finding the adapter type inside display properties. Unfortunately, when I look for the adapter type, i get no information on the type of adapter:annoyed. Questions: 1. is this the problem 2. if so, how do I identify the type, so I can download the drivers :annoyed: |

| 574203 | 2007-07-30 07:27:00 | Is it only jittery when you use the mouse scroll wheel, you can adjust this in mouse properties. If it's jerky when you use the window scroll bars, you probably do need video drivers updated. Use something like Sisoft Sandra to find what your card is. Have you installed your motherboard drivers? |

| 574208 | 2007-07-30 07:44:00 | The Display "Properties" will probably depend on the display driver to give the type. If, as seems to be the case, it is the generic driver which is installed, Properties won't be helpful. This probably happens in Hardware manager, too. Follow Jen's advice. |

| 574210 | 2007-07-30 08:12:00 | gee guys, only ones got it right so far ;) dxdiag will often only say what the driver says it is. you need a program like sisift or my favorite everest. this will id what video card you have. if it fails to you may need to open the box and actually check what video card or onboard video it has. everest free can be found here (www.majorgeeks.com) don't forget you will also need motherboard drivers, sound, lan, modem etc. |
