573458 2007-07-28 07:01:00 I've tried running AVG it couldn't detect the virus but found another virus called java byte virus.. which was removed

I've tried Microsoft antispyware and it couldn't pick up anything

I used Trend Micro House call online scanning

It found 2 trojans and 2 virus.

but fail to spot crss.exe

I can't get rid of it.

Any ideas?

573460 2007-07-28 13:12:00 Have you read the file name correctly?
Could it be csrss.exe?
If so. Its supposed to be there!
Can be a virus however.
Depending on whereit is

A little clearer bit of info...actually, where it is INSTALLED is one of the biggest indicators.

It's supposed to be on the root drive but it should always be associated with the Windows installation. Any installation of it in another part of your system is suspect. I also believe that the upper-case versus lower-case letters are an indicator too.
