573442 2007-07-28 05:53:00 Hi ...Does any of this ring a bell with anyone.....
Was on my friends PC today , it's a Windows XP dial up . After finishing on the internet I disconnected connection in lower tool bar.
When owner went on later she couldn't connect, I've turned myself inside out but haven't fixed the problem.

If I run the mouse over the connection network in the tool bar it comes up with 'a network cable is unplugged' and if I try and connect an error 721 and 619 appears.
It connects with a Agere Win modem.

Spoke with her husband and he tells me he can never get on this time of night and it comes up with errors etc, so I'm not sure whether I've done something or whether this is normal for them this time of night.

I'm clueless as I run on Win 98 SE, so I'm not sure whats happening.
I did ring paradise help desk but there was a 64 minute wait:groan: so I didn't bother.

Which is why its not connecting / answering. I get that here sometimes with Ihug.

And error 619 means the port is disconnected, whatever that means.

This a network cable is unplugged. I take it they've got more than 1 PC??

Thats usually for a network.

So I'm thinking that this is normal for them ... Phew! *wipes sweat from brow*

Must because its a busy time of the day and they can't connect, which is what the husband told me.
and here I was thinking I'd stuffed it ..

Thanks Speedy

If it is dialup then you do not use the network (ethernet) to connect to the internet. I have two ethernet ports on board. One is connected to the internet and the other is not. I could disable one and then I would not have this showing in the taskbar.
