573333 2007-07-27 22:35:00 Since the 15th, ihug shaped my peak and offpeak periods. Offpeak from 1am - 10am. I'd gone over the 5gb peak limit so I was supposed to have that cut back to 64kbps. I did, but ihug also slowed down my 10gb offpeak period which only had 100mb usage.
Ive called about 9+ times, I cannot remember. No ETA has ever been given for any maintenance etc. Each time I call, Ihug say the issue should be fixed over night or a few hours, "call back tomorrow."
It's been two weeks since the problem started and phone support say the problem hasnt been looked at. Oh.. last week, for my problems I got a $2.94 credit. Quite generous.. cough. I dont want credit I want what we're paying for.
Sound reasonable?

573334 2007-07-28 07:03:00 iHug is a bastard. They really are. They shape P2P, but declined to release the truth. qazwsxokmijn (102)
573335 2007-07-28 07:37:00 My P2p has never been shaped, I did 45GB last month on Broadband3.

What plans are you both on?

They don't shape P2P. I always get 300-700KBps unless there are only a few slow feeds.

573340 2007-07-28 09:48:00 Been with Ihug for years, they dont shape, if they have, then effect is microscopic. I can max out to 450 kB/s on most torrents, or from servers like Rapdishare.

Cheers

I was really talking about the internet speed in general, which has been trimmed to 64k all round, peak and offpeak.
They've been no help at all trying to resolve it. One dude today told me he had to go because there was another fault that needed addressing and said he'd call me back. Ofcourse I doubted him from the start. Knobs

Have you ever thought that maybe your exchange is maxed out and there are heaps of people using the limited bandwidth to your exchange?
In that case it is telecoms fault for putting the contention rate up so high.
