| 574734 | 2007-07-31 23:02:00 | I have a USB 250 Gig external HDD, brand new. Trouble is though it is shown in control panel as being present, it does not show up in My Computer and therefore I cannot use it. Its presently in a lap top running Vista and I watched while the driver was installed, so its not that. Ok put it in my desktop running Win 2000 Pro and had exactly the same response. This must be simple, but it's too hard for me <grin>, any help appreciated. |

| 574735 | 2007-07-31 23:05:00 | Go to control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management (I assume it's the same in vista, can't remember, someone else will know) The drive should show up there, format it in NTFS, then you shoud be able to see it in My Computer and use it. :cool: |
