2007-07-31 23:42:00 | OK. I managed to get the Almico Speed Fan, (above link) to work. This is what I got. Fan 1, 4116 rpm, arrow down symbol, 39oC. Fan 2, 0 rpm arrow down symbol, 29oC. Fan 3, 0 rpm, A flame icon, 51oC arrow down symbol, HDO 34oC There are only 2 fans, CPU & PSU. Does this make sense? PJ

2007-08-01 01:22:00 | Hi PJ I'm using speedfan 4.31 and this is what I see.Main screen left on readings/first tab. Fan 1 1607 rpm Fan 2 2519 rpm Fan 3 0 rpm Right side 3 readings with degrees C beside them. Go to top right Configure 1st tab--temperatures. I have 6 settings on the left side. Can't remember what they were called originally,I think they were all temps. I worked out that the 3rd one down that has 40C under sample must be my CPU temp. That's because the5th and 6th ones have a reading under chip that they are 164 and 260GB which obviously are my hard drives. And also putting the CPU to work encoding video increases that reading. It can reach 63C. All the other temp settings have minus readings so they are not sensing anything!! If you work that all out, then you can click on the names of the temps and change the words, which I have, to CPU,HD1,HD2.These are the readings that show on the main screen with the names beside them. If you click on the name on the left side there comes up on the bottom of screen an option to show in tray, which I have ticked for the CPU,so I can keep an eye on the CPU temp of course!!Also an adjustable option for the desired temp and a warning, which is your little flame. Hope this makes sense and is correct!!

2007-08-01 07:13:00 | Why not just get SIW by Gabriel Topola. It does everything perfectly and gives you speed fans and temp with the press of a button. No need to mess about in the BIOS. | beeswax34 (63) | |

2007-08-02 00:12:00 | Neil. Thanks. But given my ineptitude with computers I had better leave well alone. Our computers are running well, (Thanks to Metla), however I will take the tin box side off & check that both fans are running. PJ. | Poppa John (284) | |
2007-08-02 04:34:00 | PJ: Of the two "fans" showing "0 rpm", one might not have a speed sensor. Your eyes will tell you if it is stopped. The other, with the flame icon, certainly doesn't have a fan. | Graham L (2) | |
