576300 2007-08-03 23:21:00 I know about msconfig but I want a more permanent solution to this problem as anything you take out of of msconfig shows a nag screen that your not starting everything up.

I want to stop certain processes from starting that I just don't need running.
How can I do this.

576301 2007-08-03 23:29:00 Use ccleaner.

Go to tools / startup. Highlight the entry / entries then click on delete entry.

It wont start on bootup then.

But if you're talking about services, you shouldnt be touching / disabling / unticking them under msconfig / services.

Disable whatever the proper way through Control panel / admin tools / services.

576303 2007-08-04 04:34:00 Exactly. When you boot up the first time after disabling items in msconfig, just tick the box that says "Don't show the configuration windows after boot-up" or something like that. Easy as:thumbs: beeswax34 (63)
576304 2007-08-04 07:02:00 Get Startup Inspector http://www.windowsstartup.com/ and get rid of things that are not needed Lawrence (2987)
576305 2007-08-04 07:56:00 Services may be the alternative:

Start > Run > "services.msc" (without quotation marks)

Cheers :)
