576124 2007-08-03 06:28:00 Whenever I play a game on my computer the fans go really fast and end up making a high pitched screaming noise that is really frustrating. I was thinking that it would either be the PSU fan or the CPU fan, or both. Is there a way to figure out which fan it is, and then make it not go high pitched? And does that involve new hardware? I'm not looking for silence just the normal slow humming of the fans.

Cheers.

576125 2007-08-03 06:45:00 Its most probably your video card.

Mine spins up when im playing games as it has to try and accomodate for the rising temp.

Take the side panel of your computer off and stick your ear in your case to try and pin point where the sound is coming from.

If it IS the fan on your video card then you can buy 3rd party coolers which is no biggie.

576127 2007-08-03 08:55:00 Sounds like the fan that was on the back of this case.

It sounded like a plane when I turned the PC on.

A bang on the back of the case fixed that.

Until I has a look, then replaced the back fan.
