575983 2007-08-03 01:45:00 Okay I have had a couple of asus board and the hd audio chip, however this new build is starting to piss me off....

Realtek HD Audio driver will not load, asus site is no help, have been to realtek for latest driver, checked and re-checked BIOS.....

Device manager wont allow me to un-install both components ( there are 2 parts to this in DM.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thats if most of the updates have been installed.

575985 2007-08-03 02:15:00 The Realtek HD Audio chips are themother of all **** ups when it comes to hardware.

They need a Microsoft Bus Driver (haha) to be isntalled before the actual sound chip is picked up to be then installed.

I get pissed off with this crap every time i install windows and it never works first time.

Would you like some post with that sig, Speedy ?

The Bus drivers wont go on without Service Pack 2.

Yeah, all about the order of install, remember NT4, you had to SP every time you did driver installs

575991 2007-08-03 08:31:00 Because in the BIOS is the new option of whether to have it as Legacy Realtek or the new HD.

Once you adjust that its happy.
It wants one or the other, not both.
