| 577167 | 2007-08-06 20:07:00 | Hi all... I own a Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop and wish to raise it's performance. I plan to add 2gig of ram, but i'd also like to upgrade the video card (if there is one) Does anyone know if this is possible on this type of laptop? Thanks in advance for your help and advice :) |

As for graphics your out of luck, appears to be part of the motherboard. It's a Celeron M processor. So this means it can only take 1GB of ram? That's a shame, as everything i've seen so far led me to believe that this laptop could take 2GB. That's fine though, as it's not used for gaming (my desktop, PS3, X360 are for that) so 1GB will be plenty... not to mention cheaper ;) I am however bummed out about a graphics upgrade not being possible, as in it's current state it is unable to run Vista's Aero features that i enjoy so much. I may just sell it instead... any recommendadtions for a good all round laptop with some decent grunt? Thanks :) You could also change to a 7200rpm hard drive but these aren't cheap for laptops. I'd consider it, but I use a large external harddrive as storage for all my music and movies etc, so i'd probably just stick to that :) |
