Thanks in advance |

Then set up the code on the modem - repeat on the PC for the first time you attempt to connect. You should also set up MAC filtering as both of the above can be cracked fairly quickly these days. |

| 576705 | 2007-08-05 08:09:00 | For a start I would get the wireless network & internet working first then worry about the security afterwards. | CYaBro (73) | ||

| 576709 | 2007-08-05 10:46:00 | and also can I "wirelessly" configure my router, in other words, not have to connect my router to my computer to configure it?? | mitchellman56 (12392) | ||
| 576710 | 2007-08-06 10:33:00 | You will need to connect with cable to set it up as I understand it. Need to find out it's IP number and use the browser to access the configuration - I am not 100% sure from the above that you have done this? As suggested above try configuration firstly with no security. Set automatic IP delivery on (DHCP) and do the same for the workstation. Use ping to confirm that you have a network connection e.g. if the WAP is 192.168.0.1 then type ping 192.168.0.1 at the command prompt (using the wireless connection). |
