576966 2007-08-07 01:09:00 PC Tech, thanks for your input. Actually there is no spyware in it. I have run adaware etc.

No spyware huh.

Etc huh.

Rlvknlg.exe is a Trojan/Backdoor.
Kill the process rlvknlg.exe and remove rlvknlg.exe from Windows startup.

anti_troj.exe is a process which is registered as the Trojan.W32.Lodear Trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, Internet banking and personal data. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.

And RegCure is bogus.

And you have a a whole lot of unnecessary clutter on it too, but I'll leave that to Speedy as you think I'm full of it.

576967 2007-08-07 01:37:00 Thanks PCTech, I don't think you should take offence you are obviously an expert. theother1 (3573)
576968 2007-08-07 04:20:00 i'm suprised you didn't mention the new.net and the other componants as well.
also tad strange that adaware didn't pick it up.

also odd that the new.net trying to access the net didn't give you the hint somethign was wrong.

are you using the zonealarm antivirus ?

576969 2007-08-07 04:41:00 Not aware that anything was trying to access the net!!!!!!
I was under the impression that this computer went through a server until a week ago. I have added all the security since I found out but the problems continue. I would appreciate it if someone would be able to help me to delete what needs deleting. I need to download Zonealarm 7.0 overnight tonight as the download takes too long during the day. Fortunately I have my own laptop which I am currently using, but I would like to be able to use the work PC without having to wait forever for apps to load etc.

What is above is your problem.
Why on earth are you running SQL server?
SQL server is an advanced DBMS program that uses about 50+ mb of memory running in the background - even more if you are actually doing something on it.
Shutdown all these services and to do this permanently go Start - Run - Type 'msconfig' click the Services tab and unselect those services.
Any reason you are running AVG and Zonealarm? no need to run either of these resource hogging, not completly reliable products, uninstall both of these and install Nod32
http://www.eset.com/
which is a lot lighter on your system and is more reliable

Also uninstall all those crappy MSN and Yahoo! toolbars, useless add-ons that drag your system to its knees (i feel sorry for it :dogeye: )

Do these, and then be sure to post results back here.

Note: if you want a script to startup or shutdown all SQL servers services and dependancies let me know as I have written them and will post if you want them.

576971 2007-08-07 05:22:00 Thanks Demonhunter
What is SQLserver actually for?
I googled it and didn't see anything obviously threatening there, but I am no expert and am relying on the experts here.
Can I remove the Yahoo and MSM toolbars by going to add/remove programs?
Thanks again
Cheers
