| 576889 | 2007-08-06 06:06:00 | Much! Thanks Will it awaken the other(s) without any action by me other than turning on the primary? What about individual passwords and user accounts...can I have them too on the WOL secondaries or do I need to drop the idea of passwords and user accounts on them? |

You will need a script on SOYO that sends a WOL packet to each other machine you want to be woken up. Run that ^ on login. You can set this to happen automatically from within the SOYO OS. What about individual passwords and user accounts...can I have them too on the WOL secondaries or do I need to drop the idea of passwords and user accounts on them?WOL works with the BIOS and the NIC - it has nothing whatsoever to do with the operating system, and therefore nothing to do with whatever accounts may or may not be on the various systems. Any account management strategy you decide to use will be completely separate - WOL is a standard for powering on PCs over an ethernet network - nothing else! |
