1418000 2016-03-24 06:40:00 I am having great problems being able to access the Internet from my desktop. Sometimes a site woks and other times , no.

Having checked "Network and Sharing", I find I have ABF5 as a Public Network, Access type is Internet and the connection is Ethernet.

I suspect the problem is that this Desktop is setup for a Public network, should it be a private network?

How do I correct this?

My laptop has wifi but is most often using Ethernet. In "Network and sharing" it shows Robson as a private network, Access type is Internet and the connection is Local Area Connection 2.

I'm stumpted so can anyone advise please?

1418001 2016-03-24 07:03:00 Have a read set-private-public-windows-10 (www.tenforums.com) Your network should really be Private for home usage, public is only used -- Well in public places. :)

Options 2 & 4 will be the quickest.

1418002 2016-03-24 08:09:00 Thank you WT! I used option 2 - Registry Editor and changed from Public to private. I will be interested to see if the change helps my problem. Bryan (147)
