1412461 2015-12-06 21:53:00 Last year we moved to a new location & got a new phone number.
After 8 or 9 months we concluded the internet white pages listing wasn't going to be changed automatically.
I was quite happy about this as we were no longer getting unwanted calls.
However SWMBO wasn't & suggested I do something about it.
So after 3 months of phone calls & emails, our old listing is still there.
But we also have a new listing showing our new number but under our old address.
Not sure how to proceed from here.
Tried contacting Yellow pages people but they wouldn't help.

Anyone been down this road

1412462 2015-12-06 22:06:00 The phone book used to be part of Telecom so got updated based on their billing info fairly reliably, No Idea how it works now but there must be some method that gets updates to them from what is now Spark. Maybe spark could help, or point you in the right direction? dugimodo (138)
1412463 2015-12-06 23:54:00 When I emailed the internet white pages, I got a reply from Yellow.
They advised, any changes to private listings had to go through our provider.
If I wasn't having success, I should ask to speak to a "manager"
Our current provider is Vodafone & the call centre is in the Philippines.
My request for a "manager" didn't have much impact.
One operator consulted a "manager" during a call but nothing resulted from it
They can see the paper trail & the number of requests I have made but cant/won't/don't offer any reason why it won't happen.

1412464 2015-12-07 01:23:00 This needs to be changed by your Telco.

I ran into this when a wholesale customer wanted their home listing removed from White Pages. We had to contact 2talk on their behalf to request its removal.

Basically, can confirm, gotta go through your provider. Bummer your provider is Vodafone / Telstraclear, coz yeah you're gonna get the runaround :(

You are not wrong.
Wonder where the problem is.
The people I deal with appear to be requesting the change.
So it's either not going through to Yellow or Yellow are not doing it for some reason.

I can answer that one!

Problem is your provider, unfortunately they got their reputation deservedly :(

1412467 2015-12-09 05:05:00 But wait, there's a glimmer of hope yet.
I had emailed the Yellow person back asking if any of my requests had been filed with them.
Had a phone call from the actual Yellow person today.
They acknowledge the attempts I have made & are going to pass the info on to their processing department.
May not be the exact words but along those lines.
