1412435 2015-12-06 20:35:00 Recently our My Sky interface was changed, and now it's intolerable - slow, harder to read, complicated controls - it's so stupid that they've tried to "fix something when it ain't broke"!

Anyone else having this frustration? I've emailed Sky to see if it can be reset, but no reply yet.

1412436 2015-12-06 20:53:00 Believe it's part of their ondemand platform rollout. inphinity (7274)
1412437 2015-12-06 20:56:00 I guessed that. But man it's a pain. Greg (193)
1412438 2015-12-06 21:43:00 I have never had sky, but I do have Netflix and find it very good for $13 a month. Cicero (40)
1412439 2015-12-06 21:59:00 Sounds like they are shooting themselves in both feet at a time when they really need to be finding ways to stay in business. On demand might be a step towards that if it works and they don't continue to be the most expensive option on the market.

They have never been great value for money if you are not a sports fan. The arrival of good streaming options in NZ basically makes Sky for non sports fans almost completely worthless. There are of course some people who can't or don't want to use streaming and for them sky is the only paid option available still.

They are so desperate for customers the last offer I got was 1 year at half price, and even then it doesn't appeal to me. My house was built in 1997 and has never had a dish on it :)

1412440 2015-12-06 22:34:00 I ditched Sky early this year and do not miss it. It used to be quite good but now is full of repeats and has almost as many adds as free to air TV. Unless you are really into sports it is just an expensive waste of time.
Dugimodo sums it up pretty well in his post above.

1412441 2015-12-06 22:39:00 A lot of complaints on their FB www.facebook.com

They've merged the 2 MTV music channels too. Quite liked the odd browse on MTV Classic, now it's complete garbage.

1412442 2015-12-06 23:24:00 I've since read all about it. We're going to ditch our Sports and Movies packages, but the rest of the setup eg My Sky HDI along with multiroom makes it worthwhile. Greg (193)
1412443 2015-12-07 00:09:00 I got it in for the rugby world cup but as others have said "My God, Its full of stars". No, that's not right. Thats from 2001, a space odyssey :)

I'll try this... "My God, its full of shite"

Thats it. Sounds much more like the way it is. :)

Mine is being returned soon as possible after the Australian Open tennis.

1412444 2015-12-07 15:13:00 Stuff this new On Demand shyte. Just read Sky's email to me, and in the small print: (bold mine)

The new software and SKY On Demand are at no extra cost to SKY customers although you’ll need to connect your SKY box to the internet and pay for data usage. Check out sky.co.nz/ondemand to see how. If you need to borrow a Powerline Adaptor to connect, then a one-off fee applies. Once connected, you’ll be able to watch On Demand content from selected channels that you currently subscribe to. If you downgrade your subscription, some downloads may disappear from your planner. Expiry dates apply.

**If you choose a Powerline Adaptor, then we will lend this to you until you stop being a SKY customer. This will be a consumer lease under the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003, so we need to confirm that the fair market value of the adaptor is currently $159, this adaptor isn’t for sale and you won’t have an option to purchase it. To borrow this adaptor, you’ll just need to pay us a one off lending fee of $63.25, which includes delivery and handling, and is non-refundable. This fee will be added to your next SKY bill. If you damage or lose the adaptor, you may have to pay for us to lend you another one.

Bugger them!
