1411642 2015-11-19 04:55:00 Is it normal - is it acceptable - for a web page to state "By viewing the pages of this website, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions."
That turns up while I'm reading the web site - not before I click in. I don't see how I can be deemed to have accepted terms and conditions which haven't actually been shown to me yet.
Of course there is a link where I could find the terms and conditions - if I select to click when I have finished reading the current page.
I'm faced with this conundrum - how can I unread what I have just read!

Myself... I ignore that sort of dross.

1411645 2015-11-19 05:26:00 Just because it says you have read them does not mean you agree.

It would be different if you have to click "I Agree" to allow you to carry on , or order something and you have to click I agree.

If you click I agree, it doesn't matter if you have read it or not, by clicking I agree, you agree to what ever is written. If you didn't read it then its your own fault.

1411646 2015-11-19 20:10:00 It could be argued, that after seeing that , unless you leave the website, you are accepting the terms and conditions . 1101 (13337)
1411647 2015-11-19 22:15:00 Another similar annoyance is when you want to close a page a couple of buttons appear giving you the option of staying on or leaving the page. Is this a Browser condition or the website? I have scanned for Malware and Virus but nothing found. mzee (3324)

Its the dodgy website doing it.
Ive had that a few times, on an unwanted popup advert (firefox) .
Should be able to close the popup without have to nervously click on a close confirmation in the middle of that popup.

1411649 2015-11-19 22:42:00 yep - the website has javascript (or similar) to make the popup appear when you hit the close x - but if you just hit the close x a second time, that usually closes the page, and also gets rid of the popup at the same time..... bevy121 (117)
