1411812 2015-11-24 05:01:00 Imagine if it actually happened though...might have to move to Oz.

That's the risk unfortunately. We could always argue we're replacing their deportees.

The Koru one... Hmmm is that the one that looks like a monkey doing a dump?

Ken :)

That's the one.

1411813 2015-11-24 06:22:00 Got my voting form tonight, annoys me that they are going to waste more time and money doing it all over again once a favourite is picked to decide if we keep the existing flag or not. The should have just added that option to this referendum and got this over and done with. I fail to see how anyone could not see a second referendum as a colossal waste of time and money even if they supported the Idea of a new flag. An average School kid could design the referendum questionnaire to solve this right now. Just reminds me why I dislike politicians in general. dugimodo (138)

1411818 2015-11-24 17:22:00 If no one voted the second referendum would not be needed gary67 (56)
1411819 2015-11-24 19:48:00 Saw on the late news last night that the latest is 65% when asked don't even want the flag to change. But that % changes of course all the time. wainuitech (129)
1411820 2015-11-24 20:49:00 The 'Dear Leader' will have his way in this as in everything.
Anyone who doesn't want our glorious new logo will, of course, be misinformed or deluded.
They will be re-socialised pronto in our Serco run re-education camps on Campbell Island.
Or dumped in the sea for a refreshing swim back to the mainland.
That is all!:devil

1411821 2015-11-24 20:57:00 The whole shambles is reminiscent of the referendum in Oz over whether to stay with the monarchy or become a republic. Whilst there had been a healthy number of people wanting to become a republic prior to the referendum, the politicians got their way to stay with the monarchy by putting their grubby hands all over the referendum. It looked like a democratic exercise, but Little Johnny Howard must have known that the Oz public would never be stupid enough to trust the pollies to choose a head of state, so he effectively killed the referendum. Pretty clever really to use the well known Aussie dislike/distrust of politicians to work in your favour.

Key makes out that he wants a new flag, but the way he has handled this is very reminiscent of the other Little Johnny. The flag panel was chosen by a genius, if Key wanted to scupper the debate whilst appearing to be forward looking. Either way, Key is completely stupid, or he wanted to sabotage his own idea - I can't see any other explanation for this debacle.
